A substantial part of Garner’s charm lies in its older, established neighborhoods. But some of these neighborhoods have aging stormwater infrastructure that has not been updated in decades. In order to make certain that all of our residential communities and commercial areas can sustain a great quality of life and thriving business environment, the Town must make adequate investments in stormwater infrastructure. Failing stormwater pipes can lead to damage to streets, so investment in what goes underground also is a wise investment in what’s above ground.
The Stormwater Bonds, totaling up to $2.95 million, would be used to upgrade old and aging storm drain infrastructure to ensure proper drainage of Town streets.
